Enjoying the Stage of Beauty: Contemporary Art Exhibition's First Weekend
Summary
The 82nd Contemporary Art Exhibition, currently being held at the Ishikawa Prefectural Museum and the Kanazawa 21st Century Museum in Kanazawa City, experienced a bustling first weekend with many art enthusiasts visiting. The Ishikawa Prefectural Museum, which features Western painting, crafts, and photography, was visited by families and others who admired the works, including photographs capturing fleeting moments. Many attendees came specifically to view the works of acquaintances who had won awards or been selected. Yoshio Ikeda (70) from Kanazawa City, who won the Hokkoku Prize in Western painting, expressed his joy at having friends see his work for the first time. The Kanazawa 21st Century Museum, displaying Japanese painting, sculpture, and calligraphy, was also crowded. The exhibition features 405 commissioned works by executive board members and members of the Art Culture Association, along with 656 award-winning and selected works from the general division. The exhibition runs until April 13th.
