This award stems from a deep historical connection, including financial support provided by Shizu Sato, wife of Juntendo's third head Sato Shin, to the struggling Joshibi Art School in 1902, and subsequent leadership roles held by Sato family members. The current award is based on a 2015 cooperation agreement between the two institutions. At the ceremony, Juntendo Chairman Hideo Ogawa presented certificates to the three recipients: Soba Kashiwagi, Rensika Sano, and Chihiro Ichikawa, who then explained their works. Juntendo University and Joshibi University of Art and Design affirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation for the advancement of medicine, art, and human resource development.
