Award Winner at the 42nd FUKUI Small Hall Art Exhibition! | Kyushu Sangyo University
Summary
Nao Hirata, a first-year master's student in the Graduate School of Art at Kyushu Sangyo University, won the Fukui Shimbun Award for her work titled "Fruit Over Flower" at the 42nd FUKUI Small Hall Art Exhibition. Additionally, Haruka Okumura, a third-year student in the Department of Art Expression at the Faculty of Art, had her work "Good Night" selected. Hirata explained that her award-winning piece was inspired by the proverb "Dango over flowers" (prioritizing practicality over beauty), expressing the contrast between prioritizing practicality and an artist's tendency to prioritize artistry. She expressed her commitment to facing challenges and continuing to create what she wishes to draw as an artist. The exhibition featuring the award-winning and selected works will be held at the Kanazu Forest of Creation Museum from March 20th to April 5th.
