Yteen Art Department is holding a campaign to give away free tickets to the special exhibition “Million Stones! The Kaga Maeda Family” held at the Tokyo National Museum, to 5 groups of 10 people consisting of high school students and their guardians. The exhibition traces the history of the Kaga Maeda family through approximately 240 exhibits, including the gorgeous armor and battle jackets worn by successive lords. The wealthy Kaga Maeda family established workshops with highly skilled artisans in their castle town, contributing to the development of not only military equipment but also crafts and decorative items. Swords by Kyoto’s master craftsmen and collections of famous paintings and illustrated scrolls collected by successive lords will also be on display. The exhibition runs until June 7th. The application deadline is April 3rd (Friday), and winners will be selected by lottery. Application requires logging in with a Yomiuri ID and answering a questionnaire.
