The Bizen City Museum of Art prioritizes art collection to pass on regional cultural assets, focusing on works that offer a perspective on domestic and international trends in modern and contemporary plastic arts, as well as works related to Bizen City. This exhibition introduces approximately 60 pieces, including 39 newly acquired or entrusted works since the museum opened in fiscal year 2025. The display features artists leading contemporary Bizen pottery, renowned figures in modern and contemporary ceramic history such as Kenkichi Tomimoto, Toyo Kanekage, and Pablo Picasso, alongside works by artists nationwide exploring new possibilities in contemporary ceramics. Visitors can appreciate the diverse expressions of modern and contemporary ceramics through these varied works that transcend Bizen and national borders. The exhibition runs from March 14 to June 21, 2026.
