Stamp Rally Planned by Middle School Art Club to Commemorate 100th Anniversary of Kyoto Randen Kitano Line
Summary
To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the full opening of the Randen Kitano Line (Katabirano-tuji to Kitano-hakumai-cho, approximately 3.8km), a stamp rally is being held at stations along the line. Participants who collect stamps from two or more stations – “Kitano-hakumai-cho,” “Tojiin/Ritsumeikan University Kinugasa Campus,” “Ryoan-ji,” “Myoshin-ji,” and “Katabirano-tuji” – can exchange them for prizes such as clear files at the museum shop of the Daitoku Impression Museum in Kyoto City. The rally was planned and the stamps were designed by students from the art club of Kyoto Advanced Science University Affiliated Middle School. A 13-year-old student, Takayuki Chikatamatsu, said, “I want people to ride the Randen, collect stamps, and feel the joy of accomplishment.”
