The mirror features a surface made of "Tamamushi Lacquer," a traditional craft designated by Miyagi Prefecture. The design is based on the costume Hanyu wore during the 2011-12 season, a period following the Great East Japan Earthquake where he overcame significant challenges to achieve major success, including a World Championship medal. A portion of the sales will be donated to a fund supporting victims of natural disasters. The compact mirror will be sold on a made-to-order basis for 7,040 yen (tax included), with shipping scheduled to begin sequentially from early June. The lacquer work is handled by Tohoku Kogei Seisakusho, the sole producer of Tamamushi Lacquer, and the design balances the lacquer's contrast with the costume's glittering black lines.
