Summary
This special exhibition, held at the Tottori Prefectural Museum's special exhibition room, features selected works from the art collection that Tottori Prefecture has gathered over more than 50 years, which are usually displayed at the Tottori Prefectural Museum's collection gallery (opened March 30, 2025). The collection is composed of "Tottori Prefecture's Art," "Excellent Domestic and International Art," and "Works Indicating Trends in Contemporary Art." The exhibition displays a variety of works, including masterpieces by Edo period painters, crafts related to the Mingei movement, and works by Tottori's representative artists like Kanji Maeda and Shoji Ueda. Furthermore, it introduces recently acquired pieces such as Andy Warhol's "Brillo Box," works by French painter Georges Rouault, and pieces by leading contemporary Japanese artist Yasumasa Morimura, offering a chance to experience the expanding appeal of Tottori's art collection. The exhibition runs from February 28 to March 22, 2026.
