Art Basel Hong Kong 2026 Announces Program Details

Art Basel Hong Kong 2026 will take place from March 27th to 29th at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), featuring 240 galleries from 41 countries and regions. This year introduces refreshed curations for 'Encounters,' 'Film,' and 'Conversations,' the establishment of a new sector called 'Echoes,' and the Asian debut of 'Zero 10,' Art Basel's platform for digital art practices.
The UBS commission, created by Pakistani-American artist Shazia Sikander, will be unveiled on the M+ façade prior to the fair. The 'Conversations' sector, curated by Venus Wulandari, Director of MACAN in Jakarta, will feature a dialogue with Doryun Chong, M+ Artistic Director and Chief Curator. The 'Encounters' sector is curated by Mami Kataoka (Mori Art Museum Director) and others, showcasing works by artists such as Nobuya Hoki and Masami Anryu.
The core 'Galleries' sector includes 182 galleries, with 16 participating from Japan. The new 'Echoes' sector features 13 entries, including works by Yuko Aoki, Kei Imazu, and Akiko Kinugawa. In the 'Discoveries' section, HAGIWARA PROJECTS will present a solo show of Shunsuke Imai, highlighting presentations of Japanese artists by international galleries.
