The exhibition "ASK01 Shiga Museum of Art Contemporary Art Exhibition in Kohoku: 'Kyun-Chome: A Lullaby of One Million Years'" will be held starting February 21, 2026, in three traditional private houses in the Omizo area of Takashima City, Shiga Prefecture, with free admission. This event is the first phase of "ASK" (Art Spot in Kohoku), a new three-year project by the Shiga Museum of Art focusing on the northern Lake Biwa region. The art unit Kyun-Chome, consisting of Eri Homma and Nabuchi, will showcase diverse works including video, three-dimensional, and photographic pieces. They were inspired by Lake Biwa's enduring presence, likening it to a "lullaby of one million years." This marks Kyun-Chome's first solo exhibition in the Kansai region, featuring eight works in total, including four new pieces. The venues are historic buildings like former residences and rice granaries in the scenic Omizo district, emphasizing a unique intersection of local history, water culture, and contemporary art, held outside the main museum premises in collaboration with local entities.
