A partial reveal has been made regarding the setup for the stage design created by architect Kengo Kuma for Japan's first opera. The stage set is based on a "fictional hotel" motif, inspired by The Capitol Hotel Tokyu, for which Kuma designed the exterior and main lobby. Kuma's signature white wood stage design utilizes the traditional Kabuki revolving stage (Bon-butai) to achieve various expressive transformations.
