Senju/Adachi Cultural Heritage Exhibition (Second Period): Tracings and Drawing Manuals Left by Kano School and Tani School Painters
Summary
The Adachi Museum of History will hold the second period of the Senju/Adachi Cultural Heritage Exhibition, titled "Tracings and Drawing Manuals Left by Kano School and Tani School Painters," from February 14 to April 12, Reiwa 8 (2026). This exhibition is based on the findings featured in the May 2023 issue of the authoritative art magazine "Kokka." While the first period focused on the vibrant works of Rinpa school painters rooted in the area, this second period will specifically showcase the *honpon* (drawing manuals/tracings) of the Kano School and Tani School remaining in old families in Senju and Adachi. "Kokka," the world's oldest art research journal, was founded in 1889 by figures including Okakura Tenshin.
