The results of the 19th Minami-Nippon Junior Art Exhibition, hosted by the Minami-Nippon Shimbunsha, were announced. Open to kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high school students in Kagoshima Prefecture, the exhibition received 3,975 entries (3,755 in the flat category, 220 in the three-dimensional category) from 275 kindergartens, schools, and groups. The highest honor, the Minami-Nippon Shimbunsha Prize, was awarded to four works: "Boku no Kao" by Kazunosuke Kamimura, "Waa, Kirei da na" by Saika Yukimaru, "Shinsho" by Chika Komure, and "Sugite Yuku" by Aoi Fujisaki. Additional awards included 19 Subi Prize/Excellence Awards, 67 Special Selections, 410 Selections, and 5 School Prizes. Judged by six officials on the 13th, the award-winning and selected works will be exhibited at the Kagoshima City Museum of Art from the 18th to the 27th (closed on the 24th).
